With the LGBTQIA+ community being incredibly underrepresented in politics and heavily discriminated against, we have a long way to go until we reach a point of equality and acceptance. Below are resources for LGBTQ+, allies looking to support LGBTQIA+, and people looking to become allies or educate themselves.


  1. Organizations and resources for the LBGTQIA+ community!

    1. The Ali Forney Center helps homeless LGBTQIA+ youth in New York

    2. The Trevor Project focuses on suicide prevention for LGBTQIA+

    3. The Anti-Violence Project provides legal support to LGBTQIA+ survivors of violence and works to create change through policy and advocacy.

    4. Pride Fund to End Gun Violence works to reform gun policy and ensure safety for LGBTQIA+

    5. The National Center for Transgender Equality supports transgender people and focuses on eliminating discrimination against them

    6. The Equality Federation works to reform discriminatory legislation and increase LGBTQIA+ political power.

    7. GLSEN creates safe LGBTQIA+ friendly environments in schools and increases awareness through more inclusive school curriculums.

    8. The Victory Fund supports LGBTQIA+ candidates running for any level of government.

    9. National Queer and Trans Therapists of Color Network: find LGBTQIA+ therapists of color who can better understand and empathize with your experiences and identity.

    10. Transgender Law Center advocates for freedom and equality for transgender and gender non-conforming people.

    11. The Gill Foundation works to help the LGBTQIA+ community gain equal rights through supporting other nonprofits, advocacy, and making changes within the legal system.

    12. It Gets Better connects LGBTQIA+ members throughout the world and raises awareness of their experiences and stories.

    13. The Recovery Village provides resources regarding addiction and mental health among the LGBTQIA+ community.

    14. Nursing Home Abuse and LGBT protects our seniors from mistreatment in nursing homes. Additionally, they spread awareness on the discrimination many LGBTQ+ elders face within these facilities.

    15. Alternative To Meds Center spreads awareness by discussing substance abuse within the LGBTQ+ community.

    16. HealthLine also spreads awareness in the risks of substance abuse among LGBTQ+ people.
